Our Story

For the love of good food

It all started when Growcery founder, Jenna tried to grow carrots in her parents front landscaping at 8 years old. Years later, Jenna met Joe and was shocked he still wanted to date her after she revealed she was growing 56 different kinds of vegetables in her backyard. Joe really loves to eat, so it was a perfect match. They are now married and share a home filled with 60 plants (and counting) grown indoors and every spring hundreds more growing outside. Jenna event tried to grow Blue Oyster mushrooms in their basement and Joe finally drew the line.

You won’t find US at the grocery STORE

Guided by a love of fresh food Jenna grows and makes everything in small batches from our home in Wheatfield, New York, while Joe tastes for freshness. To achieve peak freshness, our living lettuce is sold with the roots still attached and packed right before curbside pickup.

Growcery produces fresh, pesticide-free living lettuce, greens, herbs and edible flowers. Even our two rescue dogs enjoy our lettuce (with dressing of course). Just because your grocery store is stocking 10-day old lettuce traveling more than 1,500 miles to your plate, doesn’t mean you have to buy it.

We want to give you fresh, nutrient-rich and delicious lettuce, greens, herbs and edible flowers. Most of all, we want to crank up the flavor in your everyday food and prove that lettuce doesn’t always go bad two days later.
